I Don’t Buy Bread Anymore! Quick No-Yeast Oven Bread

What You'll Need

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 1/4 cups milk, room temperature
  • Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds, optional

How to Make It

1. Prep the Pan:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit.
  • Lightly coat a 9 x 5 loaf pan with oil.
  • Line with parchment paper leaving the edges hanging over to act as handles.
  • Lightly coat the parchment with oil.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:

  • Sift the flour into a large bowl.
  • Add salt, baking powder, and sugar.
  • Mix to combine and set aside.

3. Toast the Topping:

  • In a dry skillet toast the everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Set aside.

4. Make the Batter:

  • Add the oil and milk to the dry ingredients.
  • Mix well but do not overmix.
  • The batter will be thick.

5. Bake:

  • Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle generously with the toasted seasoning if using.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Reduce oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit.
  • Cover with foil and continue baking another 30 minutes.
  • Cool completely before slicing. ENJOY!

I made it! Was fascinated by how simple you made it seem to make bread! Made it with my granddaughter. Came out perfect! A little lopsided b/c I didn’t flatten it out enough.Don’t care…I made BREAD!!! It was a beautiful thing! Love your presentations! “Show me what to do!” Thank you!!!
