You Don't Need a Rice Cooker

 

What You'll Need

  • 1 cup long grain rice or any white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)

 

How to Make It

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  • Add the rice and stir once.
  • Mix in salt and butter if using.
  • Once boiling again, cover and lower the heat.
  • Simmer gently until water is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let sit covered for 10 more minutes.

 

Final Touch

  • Fluff with a fork and serve warm.
