Holiday Survival Food! Quick Navy Bean & Ham Stew for Busy In-Between Days 🤯

 

What You'll Need

 

  • 1 (15 oz) can Navy Beans or beans of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons Macadamia Nut Oil
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1–2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon celery seed or 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Pam's Prep All Purpose Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup cooked chopped ham or protein of choice (optional)
  • 1 cup spinach or leafy greens of your choice

 

How to Make It

 

1. Sauté the Base:

  • In a heavy bottom skillet, heat macadamia nut oil over medium heat.
  • Add carrots, onion, and garlic and sauté until slightly tender, about 4 minutes.

 

2. Build the Stew:

  • Reduce heat to medium low and add 1–2 bay leaves.
  • Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

 

4. Add Protein and Greens:

  • After about 8 minutes, stir in the ham or other protein if using.
  • Continue simmering for 2 more minutes.
  • Add spinach and cook an additional 5 minutes, stirring continuously until wilted.

 

5. Serve:

  • Remove from heat and serve warm. ENJOY!
