Candy Cane Crescent Roll Dessert
What You'll Need
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 can fruit pie filling (cherry or strawberry for classic red)
How to Make It
1. Prepare the Dough:
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate each section.
- On a baking sheet, form a rectangular base by placing each section with the point side facing outward and overlapping the wider ends.
- Refer to the video for a visual guide on shaping.
2. Add the Filling:
- Spread softened cream cheese along the wider edge of the dough, keeping it to about a two inch space.
- Spoon the fruit filling down the center of the cream cheese.
3. Shape the Candy Cane:
- Fold the point side of each section over the wider edge.
- Tuck the very tip underneath the dough to secure.
- Refer to the video for clarity if needed.
4. Bake:
- Bake according to crescent roll package directions until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and gently curve the pastry into a candy cane shape.
- Brush with melted butter.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
- ENJOY!
Note: Any fruit pie filling or cream cheese flavor can be used. You can also leave it straight instead of shaping it into a candy cane for other seasons.
