- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Bake Time: 30–35 minutes
- Rest Time: 20–30 minutes
- Yield: 1 loaf (8–10 slices)
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Pam’s Prep All-Purpose Classic Seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups lukewarm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for greasing the pan
- 1 tablespoon butter
Garlic Butter Glaze:
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Pam’s Prep All-Purpose Classic Seasoning
Instructions
1. Prep the Pan
Grease your loaf pan thoroughly with extra olive oil to prevent sticking and set aside.
2. Dump & Mix
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, salt, Pam’s Prep All-Purpose Classic Seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese. Add the lukewarm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon just until a completely wet, uniform dough forms and no dry flour remains. The dough should be sticky and pourable.
3. Pan & Split
Transfer the high-hydration dough into your prepared loaf pan. Run a butter knife straight down the center length of the dough to create a split, then pour 1 tablespoon of melted butter into the center seam.
4. Bake
Place the loaf in a preheated 400°F oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the bread is fully cooked through and golden on top.
5. Crisp the Bottom
Carefully remove the loaf from the pan. Tent the top loosely with aluminum foil to protect the top crust, then place the loaf directly onto the center oven rack for another 3–5 minutes at 400°F, until the bottom sizzles and develops a golden, crackly crust.
6. Add the Garlic Butter Glaze
Combine the 2 tablespoons of melted butter, garlic powder, and Pam’s Prep All-Purpose Classic Seasoning. Brush the garlic butter mixture over the warm loaf.
7. Rest & Slice
Transfer the loaf to a wire rack and allow it to cool for 20–30 minutes. Slice with a serrated bread knife using gentle, long horizontal sawing motions. ENJOY!
Pam’s Pro Tip:
The Butter Seam Trick: Scoring a line down the center of your wet dough and filling it with melted butter gives the dough a natural expansion seam as it bakes. This helps keep the sides from tearing, opens up a beautiful rustic top split, and adds rich flavor directly to the center of the bread.
