HOW TO MAKE CRANBERRY SAUCE FROM SCRATCH
What You'll Need
- 1 cup orange juice without pulp
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 (12 oz) bag fresh cranberries
How to Make It
1. Dissolve the Sugar:
- Pour orange juice into a medium to large saucepan.
- Add sugar and heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
2. Cook the Cranberries:
- Slowly add cranberries to the orange juice mixture.
- Cover with a splash guard or strainer and bring to a boil. Do not use a regular lid.
- Cook until the cranberries begin to burst.
3. Thicken the Sauce:
- Mash about half of the cranberries as they cook to help thicken the sauce.
- Continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes.
4. Cool and Serve:
- Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool completely.
- The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature. ENJOY!
