HOW TO MAKE CRANBERRY SAUCE FROM SCRATCH

 

What You'll Need

 

  • 1 cup orange juice without pulp
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 (12 oz) bag fresh cranberries

 

How to Make It

 

1. Dissolve the Sugar:

  • Pour orange juice into a medium to large saucepan.
  • Add sugar and heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.

 

2. Cook the Cranberries:

  • Slowly add cranberries to the orange juice mixture.
  • Cover with a splash guard or strainer and bring to a boil. Do not use a regular lid.
  • Cook until the cranberries begin to burst.

 

3. Thicken the Sauce:

  • Mash about half of the cranberries as they cook to help thicken the sauce.
  • Continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes.

 

4. Cool and Serve:

  • Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool completely.
  • The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature. ENJOY!
