Crispy Chicken Nuggets (Air Fryer Method)

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound ground chicken breast
  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Pam's Prep All Purpose Seasoning
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

How to Make It

1. Prepare the Seasoned Egg Whites:

2. Make the Chicken Mixture:

  • In a food processor, combine ground chicken, salt, pepper, and egg yolks.
  • Process until the mixture has a paste-like consistency.
  • Transfer the chicken mixture into a large bowl.

3. Shape the Nuggets:

  • Place panko breadcrumbs in a separate shallow bowl.
  • With very wet hands, shape chicken mixture into nuggets of your preferred size and place on a parchment-lined baking tray.
  • Chill the formed nuggets in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

4. Air Fry the Nuggets:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes.
  • Place nuggets in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Spray the nuggets with cooking oil and cook for 10 minutes total.
  • After 5 minutes, turn the nuggets and spray again. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Final Touch

  • Let nuggets cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce!

Note: Chicken nuggets can be frozen after forming. To freeze uncooked nuggets, place them in a single layer on a parchment-lined tray until solid, then transfer to an airtight container or zip lock bag. You can also cook them first, let them cool completely, and freeze them for later.

I don’t have a air fryer but my toaster oven has a fan setting.
11 minutes, turn, 5 minutes with rounded tablespoons of squashed chicken.
I also used pulverized croutons because I didn’t have panko and mixed the whole eggs & seasonings in with the chicken. (Lazy?)
My son says YES!

I don’t have an Air fryer. How would I cook them? Oven? Or pan fry? And how long?
One suggestion, because of my back problems I would do assembly style. Make a about six then put them in the mix and then the coating. For me I would rest a few minutes, and back to work.
I don’t remember how I found your channels, but I am so happy I did. I have learn so much and use your Pam’s Prep in most of our meals. It gives just enough kind for me without being hot and satisfying for my youngest son. Thank you. ❤️
