Quick & Easy Breakfast Strata

What You'll Need

  • 2–3 slices bacon, chopped
  • 10 ounces ham, diced
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons Pam's Prep All Purpose Seasoning
  • 7 cups torn bread, packed
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • Dried or fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

How to Make It

1. Prepare the Mixture:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, and Pam's Prep Seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  • Add bread and 2 cups of cheese, mixing well to ensure all the bread is coated.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours) to let the egg mixture soak into the bread.

2. Assemble the Casserole:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Generously butter a springform or cake pan.
  • Remove the bread mixture from the refrigerator and pour into the buttered pan, pressing down firmly to compact the mixture.
  • Top with 1/2 cup cheese and uncooked bacon.

3. Bake:

  • Loosely cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bacon is cooked through and slightly crispy.
  • To check doneness, insert a skewer in the middle, it should come out clean.

Note: Cooked casserole can be refrigerated for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating in the oven, air fryer, or microwave.

Garnish with parsley if desired, slice, and serve warm. ENJOY!
